Dressage is unforgiving about where the rider sits in the saddle. A seat that's too flat pushes the pelvis forward the moment the rider closes the hip angle for a half-halt; a too-shallow seat slides the rider up onto the cantle the moment the horse comes onto the bit and lifts the back.
